Band Camp 2019

  • Band camp will be held this summer at Stonepark Intermediate School
  • The camp will be held from Monday, August 19th to Saturday, August 24th.The schedule is: Monday, 8:30-3;00 Tuesday-Friday, 9-3 and Saturday, 9-11 (beginners only). The intermediate/senior ensembles & bands will perform on Friday afternoon.
  • Parents will be required to provide transportation to and from the school.
  • All students must bring lunch each day.

*Please note: Band Camp is nut-free and scent-free.

  • Registration for the camp is now closed.

Instruments, Books and Band Sweaters

Grade 9 Band students must turn in band instruments, band books, and band sweaters on Tuesday before writing their math assessment.
All instruments, band sweaters and band books must be brought into the band area and checked off on the inventory list…leaving them on the shelves in the set-up area is not the same thing as turning them in 🙂
Grade 7 and 8 band books are to be returned by Friday.  Instruments can be taken home for the summer once they are signed out on the inventory sheet.  Instruments that are left on the shelves over the summer may be reassigned to new band students.
The grade 9 O Canada Brass Band is asked to meet Mrs. Peters on Tuesday morning following announcements.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to all of the band students on their excellent performances at the Spring Concert on May 30th.  I was very proud of each performing group, and it was a pleasure to share all of the music we have been working on with such an appreciative audience.

Congratulations to Jack MacFadyen who was the very deserving recipient of the 2019 Musician’s Award!

Thank you to Mark Rooney for his technical assistance during the show.  As always, I am grateful to our administrators, and the staff at Stonepark for their support on concert nights, and throughout the year.  The generous donations we received at the door will be used to support the extra-curricular components of the band program.  

UPEI Summer Studios

img_6189The UPEI Brass and Woodwind Summer Studios 2019 will take place June 24-29 in the Steel Building, on the lovely UPEI campus. 

This week-long chamber music workshop is an exciting opportunity for motivated young brass and woodwind students aged 14-18 to hone their musicianship, improve their technique, and meet like-minded young musicians. Students take part in individual lessons with UPEI music faculty, enjoy group rehearsals and performances, and participate in creative workshops, all within the welcoming environment of the UPEI Department of Music. Open to flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba students. Tuition is $250 for the week; financial assistance is available.

Band Camp: Beginner Forms

Band acceptances have been delivered to the elementary schools and should be received by students by the end of the day today.  All students who have been accepted into the band program are eligible to attend the band camp which will be held from August 19-24th at Stonepark Intermediate.  Cheques for the band camp must be made payable to STONEPARK INTERMEDIATE.  Band camp forms were included in the acceptance letters and can also be downloaded here:

Grade 9 Meat Order Delivery

The meat order will be delivered at 10am on Saturday morning and must be picked up between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.

All grade 9 band students who sold meat must arrange to have it picked up tomorrow morning.  Frozen meat cannot be stored at Stonepark.
