We will follow the rehearsal schedule outlined below as we prepare for our Winter Concert and  PEI Band Days:

Grade 8 early AM Band Rehearsal

NEW: Grade 7 lunch-time Band Rehearsal (12:35-1:15)

6:30:  Students arrive at Stonepark and gather in the cafeteria

7:00:  Stonepark Winter Concert

Happy Islander Day!

We have rescheduled our winter concert to Wednesday, March 1st. The concert will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Stonepark gym with our grade 7, 8, and 9 bands performing. *We also hope to have one of the CRHS bands perform as guests; this will be confirmed later this week.

Admission will be by donation ($5.00/family suggested) and all proceeds will go toward upcoming band trips and special events. We have lots of great music ready to share, and I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Assuming the snow stays away this week, we will follow this rehearsal schedule:

Tuesday, February 21st:  Grade 9 early a.m. band

Wednesday, February 22nd:  Grade 8 early a.m. band, Grade 7 lunch time band

Thursday, February 23rd:  Grade 9 early a.m.band

Friday, February 24th:  Grade 9 early a.m. band

The band concert scheduled for Tuesday, February 21st at Charlottetown Rural has been canceled due to the school closures this week.
We hope to reschedule this event! Updates will be posted here on the blog.

Mr. Parsons (band director at CRHS) and I have decided to live dangerously and go ahead with the concert that we optimistically scheduled for Tuesday night (February 21st) at Charlottetown Rural.

The concert will feature performances by our grade 8, grade 9 and grade 10 band students.  Performing next week will provide an excellent opportunity for all three bands to prepare for upcoming performances at P.E.I. Band Days in early March.

Here’s how I hope things will unfold:

Grade 9 early morning band will be held as usual on Thursday morning.

*If there is a one hour delay or cancellation on Thursday, the grade 9 early morning band practice will move to Friday morning (February 17th) from 7:45-8:35 a.m.

NEW:  There will be an additional grade 9 band rehearsal on Friday from 12:35-1:15 p.m.  *The Grade 9 band will also rehearse as usual next Tuesday morning (February 21st).

NEW:  There will be an additional grade 8 band rehearsal on Tuesday (February 21st),  from 12:35-1:15 p.m.

NEW:  The next Grade 7 Band rehearsal will be held next Thursday (February 23rd) from 12:35-1:15 p.m.

• There will be a grade 8 early morning band rehearsal (7:45 a.m.-8:35 a.m.) tomorrow (Wednesday, February 15) as long as there are no cancellations or delays.

*If there is a one hour delay, the grade 8 band will rehearse tomorrow  from 12:35-1:15 p.m. during lunch break/reading period.

• Grade 9 early morning band will be held as usual on Thursday morning.

*If there is a one hour delay or cancellation on Thursday  (see the most recent Special Weather Statement) , the grade 9 early morning band practice will move to Friday morning (February 17th) from 7:45-8:35 a.m.

• Grade 7 Band rehearsal:  I haven’t figured out where to put this one yet!  Stay tuned and please check the daily announcements, and this page, for updates.

Tuesday, February 21, 7:00 p.m. (CRHS Cafeteria): Stonepark Concert Bands will share a concert with the Charlottetown Rural Grade 10 band (further details TBA)

2016-17 Concerts and Band Events

In the event of weather related school delays or closures tomorrow, grade 8 early morning band practice will be held on Thursday, February 9th.

 Grade 7 lunch time band rehearsal is canceled for today and will be rescheduled to Thursday, February 9th from 12:30-1:15. The band room will be closed today during the lunch break.

Early morning band rehearsals for grade 9 students on Tuesday and Thursday are canceled this week due to the French Immersion trip. Extra rehearsals for the grade 9 band will be scheduled next week in order to prepare for P.E.I. Band Days.
